Tabernil Gentamicide Antidiarrheal Tabernil gentamicide is an antibiotic for the treatment of diarrhea produced by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin, it is administered in drinking water. It is a bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic, whose antibacterial action results from acting on the 30S subunit of ribosomes, altering the ordering of the messenger RNA and causing an incorrect reading of the genetic code of the transfer RNA. It also disturbs the permeability of the bacterial membrane. It is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomona aeruginosa, Entorabacteriaceae, Salmonella spp and Staphylococcus aureus. Anaerobic microorganisms are resistant. Indicated for: Treatment of enteritis (diarrhea) caused by the aforementioned sensitive microorganisms.
